The Kern County 地方检察官’s 受害者服务 Unit is dedicated to ensuring the rights of crime victims are enforced and that victims have a meaningful voice throughout the criminal justice process.
The unit has advocates who are qualified in assisting with the application process for the State of California Victim Compensation Program. The program assists victims of violent crimes with certain crime-related expenses, 不包括财产损失. Victims may be eligible to apply to the program for reimbursement of actual costs related to the crime, including but not limited to medical or counseling expenses and lost wages.
